This Is Erie 4 - Erie Harbor North Lighthouse
The Erie Harbor North Lighthouse is located in Presque Isle State Park, and is commonly known as the North Pier Lighthouse. This isn’t the original structure, as it was rebuilt in France back in 1858, when the original wooden one was swept away by a sailboat in 1857. (more information)
This is one of three lighthouses in Erie, with the others being the Erie Land Lighthouse (information), and the Presque Isle Lighthouse (information).
A couple notes about this picture:
1) it was taken back in March of 2006, which is why you see ice on the lake.
2) it doesn’t fully highlight the lighthouse (another view), but it was all that I had available to post.
