The Lake Erie snow machine is up and running. A few inches yesterday. A few more expected today. See Brian’s site for the depressing weather details.
On a related note, Erie County SKYWARN has set up a blog with Erie County, PA Snowfall Totals. This information is used by the National Weather Service (Cleveland office) to study the patterns of snowfall around Lake Erie. The data includes amount of snowfall currently on the ground (as of Sunday evening), as well as weekly and season totals, and the snow at week time last year. It is compiled by the spotters from their twice-daily reports to the Cleveland Weather Service Forecast Office.

The focus of the feature was on World Para-Olympic Contender, Rebecca Hart and her commitment to equestrian competition and riding and how it has benefited her. According to Tina Mengine, Director of the Equestrian Center, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity for national exposure. Becky is an inspiration to all of us at the center, staff and clients alike. She’s very deserving of the attention.” A film crew and staff was at The Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center for most of Sunday filming the center, grounds and Becky in action. Added Mengine, “Any time we can get national exposure for our program and for the greater Erie community it’s a good thing.”
