Blood Drive Wrap-Up

Thank you to everyone who came to the Community Blood Bank last week for Erie Blogs Week at the Community Blood Bank. I think I can say everyone benefitted, so thanks.
Congratulations to the winners of the two prize baskets, full of goodies from local companies and bloggers. We need to thank all the companies and groups that have helped us assemble such an awesome prize pack(s). They include Metal Forming Lubricants, Paragon Media One, Gnosh, CambridgeSprings.net, The Opheila Project and the Erie Art Museum. The winners are:

Blog Basket: Jenny @ Cream Of Potato Soup (referred the most donors)
Just because this promotion is over, doesn’t mean there’s no more demand for blood locally. In fact, right now there is a critical shortage. Here’s a note from Dan Desrochers:
The critical blood shortage for our region worsened and now the blood supply is at the lowest levels of the year. We have tried barrowing blood from other blood banks but there is a critical shortage across most of the United States so no one is able to share. We will be struggling until after Labor Day with this shortage and I would really appreciate ANY help you can give us. Last year over 10,000 patients in NW PA & WNY received blood that was donated to the Community Blood bank, that’s a lot of local families depending on us.
Again, thanks for donating last week. If you couldn’t make it last week, please consider going soon - more people need your help.

I am so grateful for all of the support we received from the Erie Blogging Community. Getting the word about what we do and why more people should give blood is a difficult task and we are lucky to live in a community that has so many people that care. Thanks again to everyone.
