Erie PA News and Events Wednesday August 22, 2007
A number of people who work at the Erie County Office of Children and Youth (OCY) attended last nights Erie County Council meeting. They complained that they are short workers saying that there are 41 case workers and 16 job openings for case workers. WTF? How did it get to the point where a county department is short 30 percent? The OCY wants more money to attract workers. The Erie County Human Resources Office shows only 4 current job openings for Erie County and none of them are for the OCY. Maybe if people knew that there was job openings that would actually find people to fill the positions. This mess is inexcusable.
