Erie YouTube of the Week: KEEP President
I totally forgot to post this yesterday. Why didn’t anyone remind me?
This week’s YouTube Video of the Week is from The Different Show, a local show airing on Erie cable access. They posted this video of Randy Barnes, president of KEEP, or Keep Erie’s Environment Protected. They are against the building of the world’s largest tires-to-energy plant on the site of the former IP site.

I think KEEP would have been more successful in gaining support for their cause by using solid, well thought out, intelligent argument and facts instead of the over the top distortions and lies they have used. Saying the plant will burn tires is a severe distortion and calling it an incinerator is a flat out lie. It seems their most vocal support comes from the people that wear tin foil hats, don't believe we landed on the Moon and thought we would all die within hours of drinking fluoridated water. Having some people say they will stop the plant by any and all means make them sound like the eco-terrorist group Earth Liberation Front (ELF). They might be able to get the people they need in their corner if they did a better job with their PR efforts.

Tell your secretary Sandy to give you a weekly reminder.
