Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit have partnered to host the third annual Talent Search program for high school students from June 10-13. Talent Search is one of five TRIO programs that help students to overcome class, social, academic and cultural barriers to higher education. “The goal of Talent Search is to reach out to students in tenth and eleventh grades who have potential, but often do not recognize or understand their academic and career options beyond high school,” said Felicia Williams, admissions counselor at Penn State Behrend. “The program is meeting a real need in our region. It has grown in interest and scope every year.” According to the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit, Talent Search has a success rate of placing 78 percent to 80 percent of its high school graduates in post-secondary education programs. This is five times the expected rate for students of similar backgrounds who do not receive assistance or intervention. Thirty students from eight area high schools - Central Tech, East, North Coast, Strong Vincent, Corry, Girard, North East, and Union City - are registered to attend this year’s three-night residential program. Students get a glimpse at college life, staying on campus in Perry Hall and eating meals in Dobbins Dining Hall. RE: The Brewerie
That hopness monster IPA has been out for several, several months--they should just take it off the board. The only IPA they had when I stopped was some frickin' raspberry nonsense.
Service, is still a sore spot for me at the Brewery, but the beer is getting better... but seriously, get the hopness monster back on tap.
Me thinks the cost of hops has put a hurtin' on the formulas used by many microbrews and they might be waiting to restock until it's more affordable.
