Erie Photo of the Week: Warner Theater
Here at ErieBlogs, every Tuesday is YouTube of the Week day. This morning, I got a tweet from Wednesday who was lonely and felt that Wednesdays were missing something. So, I’ve deemed Wednesdays to be our Erie Photo of the Week day. Each week we’ll post a new photo of, from or around our fair city.
This first photo in our new series is from Whitakerz’s Flickr stream. It’s a photo he took backstage at the Warner Theater, which first opened in 1931. It was one of four Art Deco movie palaces built by Warner Brothers, and cost $1.5 million to build. Concerts there are great to watch, and I think they should show more movies. My dad’s told me stories of seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey there, which would be amazing. It puts my wife to sleep, but to me, it’s the best film. Ever.
Here’s the photo. Click on it to see a larger version.
