Feel free to share your thoughts, comments and concerns on any Erie topic you like on our ongoing series of weekly open thread posts. Last week’s open thread had discussions about planning an itinerary for a new visitor to Erie, as well as some advice for a person who will be bringing their child to school in Erie this fall. The open thread is a great place to ask a question about the Erie area.

When we were in Erie last weekend, I saw this new graphic everywhere that's a heart and then "ERIE" after it. What's the campaign? Who's doing it? Are there products like bumper stickers or t-shirts? Jenny sent me the graphic using the "Pieces of Flair" app at Facebook. I'm sure I'm not the only expatriate who'd like to show off some Erielove.

The movement is called "Love Erie" and tt's actually not all that new. From my understanding and limited involvment, it was the brainchild of a few local business owners/philanthropists to promote the great things about Erie. It started about 2-3 years ago and several local businesses have adopted the logo in their branding and advertisements.

Thanks everyone. Since I've been mostly out of Erie for the last two years, it's new to me ;) I noticed it a little bit before but it seems more prevalent now.
