Today is Presidents Day. Presidents Day was originally designated in honor of George Washington’s birthday and is still legally called “Washington’s Birthday.” Banks, the post office, the courts, state and county offices and, depending on how your valentine’s weekend went, liquor stores will all be closed today.

Warm temperatures are nice for people, bad for streams and other tributaries that collect run off. Some areas are also getting ice jams, which are making things worse. If you live near of these streams, especially in low-lying areas, good luck and be safe.
