General McLane won the Pennsylvania Class AAA basketball championship defeating Greencastle-Antrim 57-55. General McLane also won the state Class AAA football title. The US Census Bureau released their Annual Estimates of the Population for Counties. According to their guess, the population of Erie County as of July 1, 2006 was 279,811.
