The former Hotel Evergreen in Edinboro last night burned down to the ground. The hotel had been vacant, but the 4 story wooden structure still housed a bar and pizza shop. Two poor dogs abandoned in a mobile home in Wesleyville were rescued by police and officials with Because You Care. Union employees at the Erie County Office of Children and Youth voted to approve a new contract. The 4 year agreement gives them 5.2 to 7.2 annual pay raises. The Erie Community Foundation has received an anonymous donation of $100 million. Yes, $100,000,000. It is believed to be the largest anonymous charitable donation EVER. Wesley Urch was charged with involuntary manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and 9 other charges for intentionally running down Terri Peoples and Stephan Caldwell on Sunday.
