Nick Scott is quoted in todays Cleveland Plain Dealer saying that plans are in the works for another expansion of Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park in Erie. Why? To keep the large crowds coming back they want to keep the place fresh. Just last year two new slides, another hot tub, another restaurant and more [...]

Saturday was the 2006 MECA United Cerebral Palsy Barstool Open. The event packed downtown Erie bars with 1,200 participants and raised $30,000 for a great cause.
Good job by the Erie Times-News on the story about the taxpayer rip-off by Bac Consulting doing computer work for the Erie County Office of Children and Youth. After spending [...]

Thomas J Gamble, PhD, president-elect of Mercyhurst College, released changes within his new administration that will take effect March 1 when he assumes the presidency. Nothing big expect someone of the pay raises. They are still seem to be puppets of Garvey and Mosco.
A restructure of the Office of the President has resulted in three [...]

My state taxes [...]

The Erie newspaper is running a story tomorrow on Mike O’Brien and his song “Erie PA” which can be found on his website. The song has become a bit of a sensation. I’m guessing a couple of thousand of people have heard it. It’s got going to win any award from the chamber of commerce [...]

The City of Erie budget talks continue to headline the area news. The budget is still millions from being balanced. Instead of looking for cuts, the majority of council (Jim Thompson, Jim Casey, Ian Murray, Joseph Sinnott) seem to have taken the cowards way out and are calling for a property tax increase to make [...]

Amanda Barren announced that today will be her last day at WJET-TV. That sucks. The smart, talented, attractive young lady will be moving to West Virginia. I get the feeling that won’t be the last time you see her on TV in Erie. It’s just a matter of time until we see her on a [...]

Pennsylvania Act 47 is the law that allows the state to take over cities that qualify for ‘distressed city status.’ Every day that passes, this looks more likely. There are a couple of people in Harrisburg that should pack their bags and start filling out change of address forms. Yesterday, instead of working on budget [...]
