Ohio Supreme Court Justice Alice Robie Resnick, who was born in Erie PA, did not to seek re-election in 2006. Resnick steps down on Monday after spending 18 years on the bench. Her husband, former appellate Judge Melvin Resnick, has been in poor health and during her last term she was convicted of a DUI. [...]

County Executive Mark DiVecchio is scarring me. Maybe he isn’t the bumbling goof he was thought to be. He again sounded reasonable and wants to save the taxpayers of Erie County a possible lawsuit by delaying the smoking ban until May 1 saying the delay would give the state legislature time to fix the law. Erie County Council appointed Charles Augustine to the seat formerly held by Joy Greco.
