Nearly 350 teams participated in the 10th annual MECA Erie Bar Stool Open. The teams paid $100 to play miniature golf and drink on a cold Saturday in February. Case Management Support Services, which did mental-health and mental-disability services for Erie County, completed their change over. They lost their contract with the county in July. [...]

Boxer Paul ‘The Pittsburgh Kid’ Spadafora waived his right to a preliminary hearing for a parole violation and will remain jailed at the State Correctional Institution at Albion. Erie County Judge John Bozza granted a permanent injunction preventing the county wide smoking ban from taking effect. The judge concluded that the county ordinance violated the Pennsylvania Clean Indoor Air Act. Congrats to Eric Purchase on the win. Erie City Council passed the 3 percent entertainment tax at last night’s meeting. All seven members of council and the Erie mayor are Democrats.
