Scary situation Saturday night when one of the buildings at the Granada Apartment complex off Peach St. caught fire. Luckily, everyone got out alive. If you live there, I’d be scared to hear about the flaws in the design of the fire hydrant system in that complex.

We’ve blogged recently about the Jacobs family, who are suing Hamot Hospital. Their son, Gregory, was injured in an accident at Peek N Peak and was taken to Hamot. The family contends Hamot and CORE intentionally killed their son in order to harvest his organs for transplant. Hamot has claimed no wrongdoing.

The parents of Gregory Jacobs have filed suit against Hamot Medical Center. Their son, 18, suffered a brain injury while snowboarding at Peek ‘n Peak Ski Resort in New York and believe doctors at Hamot ended Jacobs’ life early and intentionally so they could harvest his organs. Erie Insurance disclosed that it has lost about $9.5 million in its Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac holdings. Erie stock closed yesterday at 43.22, down 3.40.
