The state budget woes are affecting everyone, including the PA Historical and Museum Commission. They are considering closing 6 historic sites and/or museums, including the Flagship Niagara here in Erie. The ship would stop sailing, but remain as a museum. Erie County Council voted last evening to delay the smoking ban from going into effect by one month until March 15. As well intentioned as the smoking ban in Erie Councty is, County Solicitor Thomas Talarico advised the Erie County Council that it was illegal.
