Obviously the big news of the day is the announcement that GE will lay off over 1,400 hourly and 50 salaray workers, this time permanently. The plant had been having rolling layoffs the last few months. The challenge is trying to find new jobs in a similar field for these workers. There just isn’t that [...]

Dr. Leslie Powers testified yesterday in a hearing to determine whether or not Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was mentally competent to stand trial. She said that despite several mental conditions, including a borderline personality disorder, she believes Diehl-Armstrong is competent to stand trial. A psychiatrist that testified for the defense disagreed, saying Diehl-Armstrong is incompetent. No word [...]
