The Ophelia Project has announced a $50,000 challenge grant. Donations made now through October 1, 2009 will be matched 100 percent. The challenge grant is made possible by an anonymous gift of $50,000. Mike Crotty was killed in the line of duty while fighting a fire at Port Erie Plastics. Crotty was serving with the Lawrence Park Township Volunteer Fire Department where he was Deputy Chief. Crotty served as a volunteer with the department for six years. Crotty was also a paid firefighter with the Erie Fire Department. [...]
