Erie received a little bit of snow the past two days. The city seemed to be hardest hit as about 21-26 inches fell. Most church services are cancelled. Call ahead before you leave for anything. Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott yesterday submitted his budget to Erie City Council. It calls for a 12.14 percent increase in property taxes of 1.24 mills, the elimination of 16 firefighters and the sale of the Erie Golf Course. Erie Insurance (Nasdaq: ERIE) announced financial results for the third quarter 2006. Net income was $52.8 million for the third quarter of 2006 compared to $53.0 million at September 30, 2005. Erie County Executive Mark DiVecchio submitted his proposed 2007 budget on Friday. It doesn’t call for a tax increase but it’s $1.7 million more than anticipated revenue.
