The City of Erie School District preliminary budget calls for a spending increase of about $6 million to $129.3 million. All members of the school board are tax and spend Democrats. The School District of the City of Erie has of budget of over $122,000,000 and has about 12,500 students. The first place spot at the 2007 Buckeye Regional Robotics Competition went to an alliance team of students from Erie, Pa.
