Yesterday, believe it or not, was the first time the family and I have made it to Waldameer this summer. Shocking, I know. A few quick thoughts about the day, which blessed us with perfect weather. The Ravine Flyer II is as awesome as last year. I think the trick is to try to get [...]

Reader Ed Kindle, professional photographer and former Erieite, alerted us to his very cool collection of old Erie postcards on Flickr. There are over 170 photos and depictions of Erie in days gone by, with interesting views of the peninsula and downtown. The set also includes scenes from Waldameer of rides long gone and the [...]

I thought the perfect antidote to this winter weather would be a sneak peak at Waldameer’s new ride that will open this summer, the Mega Disk’O. Waldameer was nice enough to give us this new image showing the colors the new ride will sport.

The weather today should be just about perfect–head out to Waldameer one last time to ride the Ravine Flyer II. They close tomorrow for the season. It will also be a great day to hit Presque Isle, or the German Festival. Strong Vincent won their season opener last night at Veterans Stadium, beating General McClane [...]

I’ve been going to I’ve been going to Waldameer for nearly 20 years, and during that time the only roller coaster there for many of those years was the Comet. Ah, the Comet. If you’ve never taken a ride on the Comet – it’s a wooden coaster that’s been going since 1951. The hills are [...]

For this week’s Erie YouTube of the week, we take a tour of Erie and it’s water-themed attractions. Great video – though all the pretty beach shots make me yearn for warmer weather. I took places like Presque Isle for granted until I moved away for a few years. Now, it’s such a great place [...]

I expect the site to see a dramatic increase in visitors – maybe 50 percent more. Advertisers will [...]
