The Pennsylvania House and Senate passed a smoking ban. Philadelphia Governor Ed Rendell said he would sign it. Hotels must have 75 percent of their rooms non-smoking. The Erie LifeStar helicopter is missing and presumed crashed in a wooded area near Bradford, PA. Only the pilot, Heinz Schulz, was aboard. Verizon is selling their building at 150 West 10th Street. The 200 or so workers in the building will be moved to their other Erie area locations.
